Why did you decide to attend UW-Madison?

Attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison was a no-brainer. When choosing a school, I wanted to surround myself with peers that were top students and took their academics seriously. From the loyal badger alumni to the innovative faculty research, to the competitive classmates, UW-Madison pushed me to stand out from the crowd every day.

What has been your most memorable college experience?

As I reflect on my time at UW-Madison, it’s not the big events but the little moments that stick with me. From flooding the gates of Camp Randall to chant with 14,000 classmates, to watching the sunset for hours over Lake Mendota, to late nights spent in the library with friends studying for our next big exam, I’ll miss UW.

What has been your favorite course?

My favorite course was the 233/234 Dairy Management sequence. Through these courses, I learned about innovative, in-house research on topics ranging from free-stall design to reproductive strategies and everything in-between. Additionally, the class toured and audited numerous dairies throughout the year to apply what we’d learned.

What are your future career goals?

This past fall, I began working full-time as a herdsman at Genetic Futures LLC in central Wisconsin and am finishing my final collegiate year virtually. Down the road, after gaining valuable experience away from the home farm, I plan to one day take over the family business.
