Dave Dickson Memorial Golf Classic

The 2020 and 2021 Dave Dickson Memorial Golf Classic has been cancelled due to COVID-19.
Due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19 and directives from the chancellor’s office regarding campus events, this year’s Dave Dickson Memorial Golf Outing at the University Ridge Golf Course is cancelled.
The golf outing is an event we look forward to with great anticipation as it gives us a chance to reconnect with our alumni and stakeholders. Additionally, the event provides vital support for the department’s undergraduate student scholarship program and high impact learning activities such as student travel, hands-on learning laboratories and undergraduate research. Like you, we are disappointed by this cancellation but our plan is to bring back the outing for everyone’s enjoyment in May 2022. Thank you for understanding our decision and we hope you include the golf outing in your plans for next spring. Be well and stay safe.
The golf outing is the department’s primary fundraising event. All proceeds support the dairy science department’s undergraduate student scholarship program and high impact learning activities such as student travel, hands-on learning laboratories, and undergraduate research. The 2019 outing raised nearly $20,000 for those programs.
The Golf Classic uses a scramble format, where each team member plays the ball closest to the hole after each shot. The event is open to the public. A registration fee of $135 per golfer pays for 18 holes of golf, cart rental, free lunch and lots of prizes.
Individuals or companies can support the event through a sponsorship or donation. One option is to sponsor a hole for $300). Beverage, lunch, breakfast and brat cookout sponsorships for $1,000 are also available and come with special event signage.
There is a live auction, featuring a variety of dairy-related items and sports memorabilia. Donations of auction items are welcome.
