Research Area
The gut microbiome drives many systemic changes in metabolism, in response to nutrition or lack thereof. Elucidating the underlying mechanisms will lead to breakthroughs in functional therapies to diabetes, chronic liver disease, etc. I am currently investigating the role of dietary cholesterol in the development and progression of Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) through the actions of gut microbiota.
