Cindy is the lab manager for the Meat Microbiology BSL2 Laboratory in the Meat Science and Animal Biologics Discovery Building. Cindy purchases supplies, oversees laboratory safety and compliance, aids students working on research, and performs fee-for-service projects for the meat industry.
Cindy got her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Bacteriology and her Master’s degree from the University of Georgia-Athens in Food Science. She went on to work at Oscar Mayer for nearly 17 years in their Food Safety and Quality Department. She then worked for a AFCO a chemical sanitation company for 4 years before coming to UW-Madison in 2020. When not at work you can find her running with Fleet Feet Madison or hanging at home with her daughter.
