After receiving a BS in Human Biology, I came to UW-Madison to pursue my MA in Journalism and Mass Communication, which I received in 2012. Since that time, I have pursued a variety of interests, including technical editing, software testing, and writing crochet patterns. I returned to the University in early 2022 to leverage my background in science together with my wide experiences in communication and project management first as a researcher in the Leone lab and now as the Research Lab Manager for the entire Meat Science and Animal Biologics program. I have a great passion for facilitating scientific inquiry and communicating its results, which is a very dry way of saying that I love working with scientists (I even married one) and I recognize the great value in playing a supporting role in making science happen.
