Barbara Mazetti Nascimento

I am originally from Brazil, where I received my DVM degree in 2014 at Federal University of Paraná. At the same university, I received my MSc (2017) and PhD (2021) degrees in Animal Science, working mostly with animal breeding and quantitative genetics focused on beef cattle. I did part of my PhD in Australia as visitor scholar at the University of Queensland, in Brisbane. Since 2022 I am a postdoc at UW-Madison, mentored by Francisco Peñagaricano and Kent Weigel. My research focuses in the genetic and genomic selection of traits related with feed efficiency and resilience in dairy cows. In my spare time, I like to watch movies, cook Brazilian food, and explore new places around Madison with my husband.
