Why did you decide to attend UW-Madison?
UW-Madison is the center of all things dairy. Knowing that I would be learning from the people who developed programs like Ovsynch made me know that I would be getting the best education possible. Beyond that, I saw the connections that previous UW-Madison students had with each other and really wanted to be part of that community.
What has been your most memorable college experience?
My most memorable college experience was World Dairy Expo my freshman year. This week helped me get to know so many people that I have worked with at UW-Madison thus far, and will continue to work alongside in the industry.
What has been your favorite course?
My favorite course so far has been Advanced Reproduction with Milo Wiltbank. In this class I gained further understanding of the factors that affect reproductive performance on a farm from one of the most world-renowned reproductive physiologists. The best part of the class, however, was getting to work with cows, sharpening our AI skills and learning how to ultrasound.
What are your future career goals?
After graduation I would like to pursue a career in managing a large dairy or working in sales and consulting, specializing in either reproduction or herd health. Eventually, I would like to work my way into an employee development and management role within the industry.
