Research Area
My research is focused on residual feed intake and predicting feed intake. The first objective of my research is to identify physiological sources of variation of feed efficiency. By analzying arterial-venous differences of circulating metabolites and biomarkers, we aim to identify differences in post absorptive metabolism and efficiency of use by the mammary gland. My second objective is to create and evaluate predictive models of dry matter intake using a combination of cow performance data, sensor data, milk spectra data and blood metabolites and markers.
